Kids Club Childcare and more
Thursday, June 5, 2008. School is out one day early this year due to construction schedules - but Kids Club has you covered! Click here for School Release Day information for this unexpected non-school day.
School-age before-and after-school childcare for children age 4 – grade 8 Kids’ Club provides quality childcare before- and after-school for children attending District 16 schools in grades K-8 and all-day licensed daycare for children who are four-years old by September 1 of the current year. The program promotes learning and growth in all areas of development through interesting and fun activities. Kids’ Club begins with the first day of school each September and ends with the last day of school each June. Full-day care during non-school days (School Release Days) is also available and Summer care is available, as well.
Information regarding 2008-09 school year programs will be available around May 27 (after Memorial Day). Registration for School Year programs begins in June. Summer 2008 program information (SummerClub) is updated at the bottom of this listing.
Care for children in Kindergarten through grade 3 is available on-site at each of the three elementary schools. In 2008-09 middle-of-the-day care for morning or afternoon kindergartners is held at Woodcrest Elementary and Northpoint Elementary. Park Terrace kindergartners are bused to or from kindergarten to/from Woodcrest at the appropriate times.
All school sites are open from 6:00 AM until the start of school (9:20 AM) and open at 3:40 PM until 6:00 PM. Kindergarten Enrichment care is available during the middle of the day regardless of whether the child attends AM or PM kindergarten. During School Release Days care is available from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Woodcrest Elementary site (all children will attend SRDs at the Woodcrest site, including Northpoint students). Care for children in grades 4-8 is at the Westwood Complex. This program is called Panther Planet and provides the same excellent before- or after-school care with a little older twist. Our activities will encourage students to learn new skills and to pursue new interests while hanging-out with friends in a safe, supervised environment. Students at the Westwood Complex have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities and still receive supervised care afterwards. They also have the opportunity to take the Westwood Activity Bus home on certain days. All care is on-site at Westwood Complex except on School Release Days when Panther Planet-eers will join the other Kids’ Club children at the central site (Woodcrest). Panther Planet is open from 6:00 AM until the start of school and from the end of school until 6:00 PM.
Discovery Days is our all-day licensed childcare program especially planned for children who are four-years-old by September 1 of the current school year. Our highly qualified staff works in concert with our Preschool teachers to enrich and reinforce skills being taught in the Learn & Play Preschool program. Discovery Days is part of the Kids Club program and follows the school-year calendar. We’re open for most days school is closed – just like Kids Club. On School Release Days, Discovery Days children will go on any age-appropriate field trips and participate in every special event planned at no extra cost. Children receive a cold breakfast, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack every day. Parents have the option of registering for 3 days a week or 5 days a week. Discovery Days children may continue in the SummerClub program before starting Kindergarten in the fall. In 2008-09 Discovery Days is housed at the Woodcrest Elementary site and also at our new Northpoint Elementary site: both sites are open from 6:00 AM-6:00 PM.
