Additional Information regarding Driver’s Education:

* Students may not miss any hours of class. (State law requires students to be present during 30 hours of instruction - those who are not in attendance for 30 hours will not receive certification and cannot take permit test.)

* Students must be 15 years old by the end of their class session in order to take the permit test which may be administered at the last classroom session provided a minimum of 25 students are taking the test; if minimum is not met, students will take their permit tests at any License Bureau facility near their homes at their discretion.  Students will be provided their Blue Card showing completion of the 30 hours of classroom instruction required for taking the test .

* Students must produce an official birth certificate, a MN state picture ID, an unexpired passport, or immigration papers in order to take the permit test.  PLAN AHEAD.

* Instruction is provided in collaboration with Minneapolis Public Schools. All instructors are Minnesota Department of Education-licensed teachers who also have a license in teaching traffic safety education.

* Parents will receive the instructor’s name and telephone number to arrange the in-car training which uses special dual-brake driver education vehicles provided by Minneapolis School District 1.

Due to the current high gas prices there is a one-time gas surcharge that must be paid in cash directly to the in-car instructor at the first behind-the wheel session. (Specific Info in class)

* No refunds will be issued after the first class; non-attendance is a forfeiture of the entire fee paid.

* $30 administration fee is non-refundable after registration is accepted and completed.
