Bond Project Updates

School District 16 Facilities Improvement Plan An investment in the future of Blaine, Spring Lake Park, and Fridley's students, families, and communities  Continual updates provided in the left-hand column.

THE PLAN: address a projected 20% growth in enrollment by adding classrooms at all schools includes major renovation and new construction to address deferred maintenance needs on 35 to 50 year-old facilities build a new 750-student capacity K-3 school meet state and federal guidelines, address issues of safety and security provide long-range educational solutions for this and the next generation of students  A Citizen Construction Oversight Committee continues to meet regularly with the superintendent, architects, and construction managers for the facilities projects. Westwood Intermediate & Westwood Middle School

District Services Center
The district acquired the former Spring Lake Park HealthPartners facility for much-needed space during 2007-2010 construction phases. It will now also be used as a permanent District & Community Services Center.
