GRADUATION INFO - Cap and Gown orders were due on Wednesday, March 10th. 
You must have a cap and gown in order to walk at graduation.  Late fee of $10 will be added.

SENIORS local scholarships:
The local scholarship applications are now available in the Student Services Office.
All applications must be completed and turned in no later than 2:30 pm on March 26, 2010.
No late applications will be accepted.
 
SENIORS: If you ordered Graduation products through JOSTEN’S, you can pick up your orders on Wednesday the  March 24 during the lunch hours. Josten’s will send notices to the students who have ordered.  GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS and NOVELTIES.

TALENT SHOW TONIGHT:
Fine Arts Center at 7:30p.m. Admission $6.  $4 for Senior citizens.
Use door #1 at the rotunda.   Door open at 7:00 p.m.
Performers: Bands should arrive at 6 p.m. to set all equipment, all other performers by 6:30.
 
Ultimate Frisbee Club meeting TONIGHT for both students and parents this Thursday. Any student (both boys and girls) interested in joining this new SLPHS Club plan on attending this meeting on Thursday March 11 at 6:00 PM in the HS cafeteria.
 
REGION 5AA Vocal Solo/Ensemble Contest
Will be held here on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Many Library books and items are over due….either renew them or return them.
 
IT’S TIME TO RENEW TRIMESTER PERMITS!! All Trimester permits must be renewed by By: 2:45 PM TODAY.
  • 3rd Trimester---$65.00
  • 3rd Trimester -Limited (3 hours or less)---$35.00
  • Note: Permits not renewed will be sold to someone else the first day of the new trimester.
 
PROM…Ladies:  If you are planning on attending prom this year and will not be able to afford a new dress, please stop by to see Noreen in the Activities Office or visit your counselor to get information on OPERATION GLASS SLIPPER which will be held at the Mall of America on March 13th and 14th! THIS coming weekend ONLY for the free dresses!!!!
 
State EMS Competition Results
 SLP OEC took 1st, 3rd, 5th place at last Saturday's contest.
29 teams competed in all. Each 4 person team worked 3 scenarios, 1 required them to jump into the pool to retrieve a drowning child, another had 10 victims and required them to triage and pick the 2 victims most in need of help. Each participant took a 50 question written exam. 1109 points were possible.
  • 1st Place: 89.6% (one of the highest scores we've ever seen) Toan Chu (Irondale)-(Captain), Morgan Foizie (12), Dan Kiley (12) & Jessica Zimbeck
  • 3rd Place: 82.58% Kelsey Walczak-(Captain), Cody Axelson (12), Taylor Hanson (11) & Liongmayong Lee (11)
  • 5th Place: 79.88% Jessica Ammerlaan (Captain), Carolyn Maki, Rajaa Sougdali & Kelsey Wagner

Congratulations to them for their hard work, determination, and dedication to Academics, Arts, and Athletics. We are proud to have them represent Spring Lake Park.
“The Triple “A” program was created in 1988 to recognize high school students who excel in the arts, athletics, and the academics. Seniors who have a “B” or higher grade point average and who participate in MSHSL activities.
 
GSA   Meets on Wednesdays in the Student Services conference room after school.
 
SANP (Senior All Night Party)- Starting Feb. 15th and running through April 15th, Chili's is holding a fundraiser for us as well!  You need to let your server know to give the SANP 10% of your total bill! This can be for dine out or take out, doesn't matter.
 
Sophomore Senate will meet Tuesdays at 2:40 in Room B 244.

Junior Senate Meeting will be FRIDAYS after school at 2:40 in Rm.C 254 (Ms. Schlangen's room).

B and C building closes at 3 p.m. daily.
No students are to be in these two buildings without staff being with them.
All students need to be in the rotunda area by 3 p.m. Students need to be reminded to have all items with them.
There are activity buses Every day…M, Tu, Thu 5 pm / W, Fr 4 pm.
Bus should pick up near the pool entrance.

Senior Andy Loesch takes 2nd place in State AA Diving.
Senior Andy Loesch takes 2nd place in state. In his final three dives and moved up 8 places to finish an impressive second place at the AA Diving meet.
 
Spring Lake Park Girls gymnastics was awarded "All Academics Section 5AA Team of the Year" at the section meet. Congratulations!

DAVIS"S BIO:
Blues star St. Louis Blues winger David Backes is making his Olympic debut in Vancouver. Now playing his third full NHL season, Backes helped lead the Blues to the playoffs in the 2008-09 season, their first trip to the postseason since 2003-04. He scored 31 goals last season, and 54 points, finishing second on the team in scoring. Selected by St. Louis in the second round, 62nd overall, in the 2003 draft, Backes made his NHL debut in 2006.
