Our Philosophy:
The objective of Westwood Middle School Activities is to promote equal participation, teamwork, skill development, and good sportsmanship with the intent of engaging students in life-long phyical and social particiaption in activities while representing Spring Lake Park in a positive manner. -Westwood Middle School, Community Services and Anoka County will be offering a variety of extended day programming opportunities for students. These activities will have both an academic and enrichment focus. Most of the activities will have a fee. Any questions about middle school activities please contact:

WE ARE TAKING REGISTRATION FOR FALL SPORTS NOW
(Football and Volleyball)
Please stop by the middle school counseling office to pick-up and drop-off registration packets between 8:00am and 1:00pm Monday-Friday. When school starts again in September we will use normal school hours: 7:45am-3:30pm
Registration packets can also be printed by clicking the links above (athletic forms and physical forms) and bringing the completed packets into the counseling office during business hours.

Football 2010 Update (Fall)
*Schedules will be relesed for 7th and 8th grade as soon as they are finalized. We are working to try to play as many games as possible on the best dates. Thanks for your patientance.
8th Grade football:
Starts on Monday August 23rd @ 8:00 am, here at Westwood Middle School
23rd 8:30 am -11:30am (pads handout-bring lock for locker)
24th 8:30 am - 10:45 am
25th 8:30 am - 10:45 am
26th 8:30 am - 10:45 am
27th 7:45 am - 10:45 am (SLP high school)
7th Grade football:
Starts August 30th @ 3:00 pm, here at Westwood Middle School
(pads will be handed out on the 30th)
Volleyball 2010 Update (Fall)
Volleyball practice will begin during the first week of school. Please get your registration filled out and turned in before practice starts.
$150.00 - First Participation
$125.00 - Second Participation $100.00 - Third Participation $75.00 - Fourth Participation Any student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch shall also qualify for free or reduced activity fees. No fee or ½ fee respectively. Documentation is required. Middle School athletes will pay the middle school rate whether they participate on a solely middle school team or on a combined middle/high school team. Registration for a combined Middle/High School team must be done at the High School Athletic Office.
All middle school students playing high school sports must pay the high school fees for participation.
There are several high school sports that allow participation from middle school students. Registration for these sports takes place at the high school Athletic Office. Click here to visit the high school athletics & actvities page.
Fall: Cross Country ( Boy’s & Girl’s), Boy’s Soccer, Girl’s Soccer, Girl’s Swimming, Girl's Tennis
Winter: Girl’s Gymnastics, Boy’s Swimming, Girl’s Hockey, Nordic Skiing Spring: Softball, Baseball, Golf (Boy’s & Girl’s), Boy's Tennis
The middle school offers a variety of Clubs, Targeted Services, Community Services, Gifted Services, Academic Support and Preforming Groups:
Fee:
$20.00 per trimester
or
$50.00 per year.
Limited bus stops are available.
Buses leave the middle school:
at 5:00 PM - Monday, Tueday, and Thursday
at 4:20 PM - Wednesday and Friday
There are typically two buses, one North route and one South route with pre-determined stops. Students must sign up daily (before 1:00pm) in the counseling office to ride the activity bus and show the driver their punched school ID card. When the rider-ship is low, one route may be run instead of two. Bus passes can be purchased in the counseling office.
If very few or no students sign up for the bus it may be cancelled.
